3 Tips to Achieve Your Writing Goals

1. Make your goals achievable.

By achievable, we mean realistic and attainable. You might unconsciously have set a goal even others will have a hard time achieving, even if they had the means and the time to do so.

Here's what you can do: break down your goals into small, realistic goals set against reasonable time frames. Oftentimes, you'll achieve your bigger goals if you work on achieving the smaller goals leading to those. The important thing is making your goals as realistic and as achievable as you can.

2. Devise a feasible plan.

You know what you want, but do you know how to get what you want? Do you need technical or artistic training to achieve your goals? Or perhaps further studies? Do you have a set plan of action that will lead to the achievement of your goals? What things, both tangible and intangible, do you need to aid you in reaching your goals?

Take a moment to sit down and list the things you need and make your action plan. This is a good time to break them down into small, realistic goals and then tackle them one day at a time!

3. Resist spreading yourself too thinly.

Sometimes, it's better to work on one goal at a time, rather than doing and shooting for so many all at the same time. Work on so many goals at one given time and you'll find out you're nowhere near achieving even one goal. You won't be able to focus your full energy on one goal.

Prioritize your goals and start with either your top priority or your most realistic goal. You'll discover you're able to do more and achieve more using this approach.

Get Free Google Traffic Using My Expert Tips

As you all know, Google has become the king of search engine traffic to most websites around the world. Google delivers about 60 percent of most qualified free traffic to my websites every single day with almost no exception. Yahoo is second, delivering around 20 percent and MSN is third delivering around 10 percent. That leaves 10 percent that comes from all secondary search engines like Alta Vista, AOL, Looksmart, ExactSeek, and so on.

If you plan on reaching your visitors without spending a lot of money, then free search result listings are the answer. Most search engine optimization experts set their main goals for placing in Google for the main keywords they are trying to target in the first two pages of results and more importantly in the first page.

When you optimize your site for Google, you must do several things correctly to gain any relevant indexing with Google.

Fist, you must quality content on your site that explains what your business does and the content should contain relevant keywords that your are trying to place for free with.

Second, your meta tags in your header tag should reflect whets in the content on your page. You have title tags, a description tag, and keywords tags. The title is most important followed by the description, and finally the keyword tag.

Third, your images should have alt tags that describe to the search engines what your pictures represent. If you have an image of your business logo placed on your site home page then call it you business logo.

Fourth, If you can purchase a website address that has your primary keyword of focus in it than do so. If you already have a website that has been active for a good period of time than keep the address you have. Most of the time your marketing collateral has your web address on it anyway.

Fifth, name your website links. If you offer web design services, your service tab should be (web_design_services.html) for example. Name your images as well. If you have an image of a dog swimming, call it (dogswimming. file type).

Six, you must build quality back links to your website. Make sure to use keyword optimized text that will tell Google what your site is about. Find sites that are similar to yours in content and request link placement trade from them. You can write articles like this one, post blogs, place classified ads, and so much more. Just get back links that make sense. If you run a toy store don;t place your ad on a hardware store website.

Seven, add fresh content to your site at least once a week if you want the search engines coming back for more. Having fresh content on the home page is most valuable. Add a newsletter, latest updates, ect.

Eight, create a sitemap.xml file and submit it to Google sitemaps. Create a sitemap.txt file and submit it to Yahoo Feeds, and place a sitemap.html file on the footer of your website for all search engines to navigate your site and find all pages you want them to index.

There are many other things you can do to accomplish great placement in the free Google listings.

These are some great starter tips that will get you on you way to great keyword placement. Read more articles like this one to learn more about how you can achieve great Google keyword placement.

Give me 1 Link, I'll Give You 5 Links in Return

Blogging - Intermediate Tips for Blogging

Blogging has never been more popular than it is right now and the use of blogging as a form of self expression, whether or not a person is that good a writer, has become quite rampant these days. Blogging, when defined, is actually the act of writing down things on a web log. Sort of like an online diary, a web log, or Blog as people now call it, is indeed a place where people express themselves.

However, as online businesses discover the traffic generating power of blogging, blogging has evolved from simple outlet for self-expression to one of today's most effective internet marketing strategies. Whether your blog is personal or business, I have some tips for you that are proven to help you get what you need when doing your blogs:

1. Pick a topic and stick to it. Your blog should be dedicated to one topic alone. Avoid discussing different topics on your blog to avoid confusion among your readers. If you have another topic in mind, start a new blog.

2. Get a creative blog name. The title of your blog should be catchy and intriguing. It should say something about your topic and your blog's content. Also, put relevant keywords or key phrases on your blog name so it will be indexed by search engines. Keep it short and sweet so it will be easy to remember.

3. Update your blog regularly. Research on your topic and write an article or two on a regular basis. Offer your readers something that will make them want to visit your site over and over again.

4. Advertise. Would you want to earn through your blog? Put advertisements on your blog that compliments your topic. If you are writing about traveling, advertise hotel and accommodations or tour packages.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article marketing success, ‘Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide‘

Best Approach For Free Advertisement

Best approach for free publicity.

Product/service publicity is the superhighway to business success everyone dreams. Then imagine having your product/service written on newspapers, trade publications, aired on radio and viewed on television absolutely for free!!! That’s going to skyrocket your profit target only if you know how to use the best method of getting free publicity.

The million-dollar question now is, what’s the best method for a free publicity? It is the PRESS or NEWS RELEASE. The knowledge about how it works is the key to your success. This knowledge depends entirely on how you understand the psychology of the editors and new directors that publish or air your press release. This article will show you how their psychology works and how best to manipulate them for your benefits.

Number one. These editors and news directors are very busy people. Don’t bother them with your trials and tribulations or your plans for the future. They are only interested in something new and profitable to their readers or viewers. So the rule here is to sell him first. Convince him that your business fills a need to his readers, viewers or listeners. Then your press release will be welcomed.

Number two. Editors and news directors move with the trend. They concern themselves more with current issues and events. So timing of your press release with current news events is an important factor. For example a story on job layoff and increased unemployment carried out on newspapers, on TV and radio should prompt you to get a publicity release out to all the media on help and opportunity offered by your product/service.

Another kind of timing to keep in mind is publication. For Articles you’d like to appear in the Sunday paper, you’ll generally have your release in at least nine days prior to the date of publication.

Number three. Media men appreciate polite gestures. When an editor uses your publicity release, always follow-up with a customized “thank you” note. Next time you send out your publicity release with others, his more likely to pick yours. If he doesn’t use your publicity release, never call him demanding to know why he didn’t use it or only gave you a mention. Do this once, that particular media will “round file” my further material received from you, unopened! If your first effort is not used, change the story, perhaps write it form a different angle and try again and again.

Number four. They appreciate a formal press release. Finally you need an actual publicity release that’s well written and expected to be used by the media. It must be typed, double spaced, and short (1/2 page total length). About an inch from the top of the paper, with an inch and half margin on the side of the paper; from the left hand margin, type in capital letters: PRESS RELEASE. Then, underline this word. Immediately following the colon, in small letters put the date. Note to put the date forward, at least one day after you intend to mail the release.

On the same line, but on the right hand side of the page, all in capital letters, FOR FURTHER INFORMATION: underline it, and immediately below type your name, your phone number and your address all in small letters.

Skip a couple of spaces, then in capital letters-centered between the margin type story headline, and underline it… skip a couple of spaces, and from the left margin, all in capital letters, type the words, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: from there on, it’s the news or publicity story itself.

Use these four basic psychologies of the media men and enjoy a free publication of your product/service always.

Alexa Rankings Explained

High Alexa traffic rankings are coveted by webmasters around the world. While data is collected only from Alexa Toolbar users, the toolbar is used by millions of heavy web surfers.

Plugins are available now for the Firefox browser which I use on a new U3 thumbnail drive. I can plug into any Windows computer with a USB port, see the Alexa rankings in my browser, and not have to install or leave anything behind on the borrowed computer.

How are Alexa's traffic rankings determined?

* traffic rankings based on usage of Alexa Toolbar users only

* may not be representative of the global Internet population

* traffic rank is based on three months of aggregated traffic data from millions of Alexa users

* combination of reach and pageviews

* reach is number of unique Alexa users who visit a site each day

* reach is expressed as the percentage of all Internet users who visit a given site

* pageviews are the total number of URL requests for a site each day

* page views are the average number of unique pages viewed per user per day by the users visiting the site

* ranking is determined by a combination of users and pageviews

* top level domains only (e.g. playtriton.com)

* no separate ratings for subpages or subdomains

* personal home pages are identified with an asterisk (*)

* sites serving the "same" content are counted together as the same site

* sites with low traffic (under 1,000 pageviews per month) will not be accurately ranked by Alexa due to statistical limitations

* the main traffic rank shown in the Alexa Toolbar is calculated from three months of aggregate traffic data

* the movers and shakers list is based on changes in average reach on a week to week comparative basis

Other factors can affect your site's Alexa ranking. Sites on the toolbar itself - like Amazon.com - may be over ranked. Heavy toolbar use in a particular region - like China - can raise Chinese sites to high levels.

The best use of this traffic ranking tool is to see how your site compares to 3 months ago.

Moving up in the Alexa rankings can help you determine if your Internet marketing efforts are bringing unique visitors to your website.

The Yahoo - Google Battle - (Index) Size Matters!

Yahoo got more pages indexed than Google. And an enormous amount more. It seems that the Yahoo index is more than twice the size of the Google index. Recently this was also announced by Yahoo, even though they generally don’t comment on index sizes.

However, a simple search for the word ‘the’ in both engines shows a huge difference. Where Google comes up with approx. 3,320,000,000 results, Yahoo spits out the huge amount of 10,200,000,000 results.

Ungoogle like, a couple of weeks later Google responded. Not by word, but in silence. An enormous crawl of the net was performed and even though it still says ‘Searching 8,168,684,336 web pages’ on the google home page, it is obvious that they have indexed a lot more pages.

These new pages actually were ignored by Google before but it seems that the spider rules of google have been changed in order to increase the index. Obviously this could not happen unnoticed. And noticing it we did. Many sites are seeing reduced traffic since Friday, August 19th, 2005.

Considering that Google has special rules for newly indexed pages, (Simply said: no PR so PR is not taken into account when determining the position of the page*) you can see lots of PR0 pages rank high that weren’t there before. Some of the sites I monitor show a decrease in traffic of about 20 to 30%. If Google indexed about 20 to 30% more pages then this explains the decrease in traffic. These new pages get found, but the number of searches has not increased. In other words, the amount of traffic Google generates now is spread over 20 to 30% more pages. High ranking sites lose traffic (especially content rich sites) to all these new pages that have been indexed. In a next PR update this lost traffic should be recovered partly I believe, though all these new pages also contain new links so it is a swag (Silly Wild Ass Guess) to predict what will happen in the next PR update.

It is interesting to see how Google now made the fairly commercial decision to respond to Yahoo’s increased index. A leader sometimes needs to punch a challenger in the face in order to maintain the respect of the group. They did this, though for now it seems to be just a small punch, which makes me believe we can expect more from Google.

*Controversial, not generally accepted, theory of mine.

How To Choose Right Keywords To Market Your Website

Anyone who knows anything about how search engines work will tell you that you need to choose the perfect keywords in order to improve your search engine ranking. Yet, if you are relatively new to the website creation scene, you may have very little knowledge about what keywords are, what they do and how they enhance search engine optimization (SEO). Nevertheless, understanding what keywords are and how they work is critical to your websites success and the amount of traffic you will receive at your website. Let’s take a look at what keywords are and how to choose the right keywords to improve your SEO techniques. In doing so, you will immediately be able to put such knowledge to use and improve your page ranking in search engines.

Keywords are used by search engines to determine whether or not your web pages will address the needs of Internet users that are conducting a search. The more keywords that are found on your web pages, the more likely your webpage will be listed as a response to a user’s query. Yet, a webmaster must bear in mind that not enough keywords on a webpage will have little to no affect on a web page’s search engine ranking, while a web page with too many keywords may also have little affect. Why? Quite frankly, an obvious attempt to sway a search engines listing actually reduces the quality factor of a web page and a search engine will rate it lower than it would a web page that contains quality information.

Therefore, choosing keywords is part of the website marketing process: having the right keywords appear on a webpage will result in increased traffic to your site. There are a number of web resources that will help you determine what keywords are frequently used, like keyword generators and the like, but the problem with such tools is they don’t necessarily identify the right keywords that will ultimately draw traffic to your site. Instead, you need to be choosy about what keywords you use. First, you can go with the most popular keywords suggested, but the most popular keywords don’t always necessarily work in drawing traffic to your site, nor do they always help you improve your SEO and page ranking within major search engines.

First, you will want to try and use truly specific keywords when generating keyword enriched web pages. Try not to be too vast in your descriptions—if a keyword generates 20,000 pages in a search engine, chances are your keyword enriched page isn’t going to make a huge difference in you web traffic. Yet, if you are using keywords that few than a hundred sites use you may find that your search engine ranking is increased because so few sites use the specific keywords you have chosen. Obviously then, it serves to tell you that one keyword enriched webpage may not make a huge difference in your overall web traffic, but several keyword enriched pages will. Just be sure to use uniquely defined, themed keywords within your web pages and watch your ranking improve in the major search engines.

Another unique way of selecting keywords can be found in viewing similar websites to your own. Find out what other webmasters are using to draw traffic to their website. How do you do this? First, review many websites that are similar to yours. Watch for repeated themes within websites—do you see a pattern? Take that pattern and use it to your advantage, using a keyword generator determines which keywords are most unique that fit the pattern that other websites are using. Next, generate a few web pages that are keyword enriched with your selected keywords. Conversely, if you are familiar with html, you can view a webmasters source codes and see what Meta Tags they are utilizing. Meta Tags reveal the keywords of a page and can give you a good clue as to how the competition is approaching the keyword enrichment process, if at all.

Whatever you do, when in the process of searching for keywords, don’t just throw your best guess out there and go with it. Although it is possible that you may get lucky and actually improve your website traffic and search engine ranking, it is unlikely. Most keywords that are the product of a webmaster’s guess are far too broad to make any kind of difference in search engine ranking or web traffic.

There are a lot of little tricks one can use to make the best of the keyword enrichment process. You can write articles that focus solely on the keywords you have selected or you can hire freelance writers to do the work for you. You can make use of a variety of free and subscription web tools to improve the type of keywords you choose. Either way, once you have found the right keywords you will immediately note an increase in your web traffic—an increase that undoubtedly accompanies your improved search engine ranking—an improvement that is the direct result of your improve SEO techniques.

About The Author
Daniel Smith writes about directory text links http://www.linksattack.com.

Forget link exchanges, exchange value

Getting traffic is a problem for all but the most successful websites. No matter how brilliant your graphics, how good your products, how persuasive your text or how enticing your offers you just won't sell anything to people who never see them.

The most effective way to get targeted traffic is to get high rankings with the search engines, especially the 'big guys' Google, Yahoo and MSN. Every web guru and wanabee will tell you that you need links into your site. Easier said than done.

The simple answer to the linking problem is to use a link exchange. There are thousands of them on offer, just do a search! However, virtually none of them can deliver quality traffic. If you generate links via spammy automation tools they won't deliver you any value. Why? Because search engines constantly improve their methods of weeding out sites that rely on cheap tricks to over inflate their value.

Links from related quality sites is what you need. Links from long 'link pages' are discounted by the search engines. Remember they are trying to deliver quality results to their searchers. If you can get a link from a page with just a few other links you will eventually get more, and better, traffic.

The idea of link exchange is that you send some of your traffic to another site hoping to get a return. So you need to do some research to see if exchanging the link is good value for you. Will the other site send more customers your way?

Free links are like free money, an illusion. You have to work to get good inbound links.

Finding and evaluating suitable sites is a tedious and often unrewarding activity. Higher ranked sites will only be interested in getting traffic from you. Sorting the good sites from the bad will take too much of your time.

There is an alternative to link exchange and it is called Value Exchange. The idea goes like this.

You register your site and list the keywords relevant to it. Registration is free.

When you login you can see details of other sites that match your chosen keywords and decide if you wish to contact them. The owners of the sites are prequalified, in that they are have indicated that they are in the market for links, and they understand that they don't want to be part of big link farms.

The Value Exchange Service come with plenty of simple documentation and help to ensure that you can set up your effective linking strategy without a steep learning curve. There are tools to manage your dealings with each site and to monitor the traffic on links back and forth. You will also get access to a valuable ebook to help you get the most out of your links.

You will not be pestered by sharp operators with dubious schemes.

Over time Value Exchange will help you will build range of quality links into your site that will deliver you visitors who are ready to buy.

Yahoo's Back!

I was all set to write an article predicting the future of search engines, when Yahoo dropped Google and replaced it with its own engine. Now that's big news. In less than twenty-four hours, Google went from about 79% of the market share to about 51%, almost overnight. And what a welcome relief it is too! Being #1 in Google was great, but when you had the misfortune of dropping even a couple of positions you really felt it. Now there will be more stability; if you drop in Google today, your hits from Yahoo will remain consistent.

What is the new Yahoo?

Last year, Yahoo bought the AltaVista, Fast, and Inktomi search engines. The new Yahoo results are none of these. Many people are saying that the results come from a new Inktomi because the results are similar; but the results are also similar to all the other search engines out there. In comparing these engines, it seems to me that Yahoo's results are from a brand new engine. Maybe they took parts and ideas from all the search engines they bought - maybe they even took the best parts - , but whatever they did, the result is something completely new.

Which search engine is better?

I will be comparing Google and Yahoo for the terms "music", "art prints and posters", "Bahamas real estate", "mosquito nets", and "liposuction". The other search engines all hold less than 4% of the market share (except for MSN which uses Yahoo's Inktomi), so I won't be considering them. Here is what I found in the top 10 results for each keyphrase:

Music

Yahoo offers a lot of music resource sites. Information about music from different sources such as magazine, TV and other music news sites are found 6 times in the top 10 results. It also offered downloading and file sharing programs 3 times. The 10th result was an audio player program site.

Google has a lot more diversity. There were 3 music resource sites (but no magazines), one downloading program, one CD store, one radio station (Yahoo radio), one music directory, and the 10th result was an audio player program site. Google also had 2 sites in its top ten that were of no value whatsoever; MP3.com which just has one page stating that they no longer offer the services that they used to (with links to their parent company), and music.com, which is nothing more than an email gathering site for a newsletter (not a single link on the entire page).

Google's diversity is a big bonus, but the 2 spam/junk/useless sites really hurt it. The results? Yahoo 1, Google 0.

Art Prints And Posters

Yahoo offers 6 stores, while Google offers 5. The other links are all affiliate spam with no content whatsoever (just links to stores), with the exception of one of Yahoo's links, which has some biographical content about artists. So Google has 5 spam sites, and Yahoo has 3 and a half.

Yet another round goes to Yahoo.

Bahamas Real Estate

For this keyphrase, I found results between Google and Yahoo to be quite similar. The only differences were sites by actual realtors and sites that were simply property listings. Both types of results are useful, with Google having an edge in realtors. Google had some lower quality sites, but the information was just as good even though they did seem less professional. On the other hand, Yahoo did have one site that was nothing more than a links page from another realtor's site. Big boo boo.

This one goes to Google.

Mosquito Nets

It seems to me that someone searching for "mosquito nets" wants either A) to buy them, or B) to learn about them, so I was expecting to find either stores or information about mosquito nets. Yahoo showed me 6 stores and 2 informational pages. The other results were a search result page (not a good result) and an inner page from a previous result (also not a good result).

Google gave me 7 stores and 3 charitable organizations (one of which was a store as well). The other 2 charitable organizations were a news article outlining what they had done regarding mosquito nets and information about mosquito nets.

So even though I didn't necessarily want the latest news about what a charity did regarding mosquito nets, I think getting the same site twice from Yahoo (not to mention the search result page) is the bigger no-no. Google wins this round.

Liposuction

I expected to find information about liposuction, liposuction organizations and either doctors or centers where you can have liposuction done. What I got was a lot of "how to find a doctor" sites, with a lot of good information.

Yahoo results included 3 sites doubled. This is a problem that killed AltaVista in the late 90's. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon. Other than the 3 doubled sites, the results included 4 informational sites, 2 sites for finding doctors and one poorly written article about the history of liposuction.

Google gave me 4 good informational sites, 2 good "find a doctor" sites, one recent article about liposuction for people in the industry, one site with very poor information one written by a single doctor and one site that was nothing more than a directory.

Google gets this round as well. Overall, it looks like Yahoo needs to fix its doubling of sites and Google needs to clean out some spam (poor sites).

And The Winner Is...

You! Having two good search engines to choose from makes searching that much better for everyone. It also makes getting listings better. It also makes marketing better. It also makes traffic to your site steadier. The only way this could have been worse is if Yahoo's results sucked, and they don't. They seem just as good, if not better, than Google's.

So rejoice, and enjoy a more dynamic world of online searching!

Tips To Escape From The Google Sandbox

Google's sandbox is a relatively new filter that appeared to be put in place back in March of 2004. This happened after the widely publicized updates of Austin and Florida, and the implementation of what is known as the Austin update. If you are not sure what those are, there is no need to worry as those updates are now for the most part in the past. The sandbox filter seems to affect nearly all new websites placing them on an initial "probation" status. The effect of this is that new websites may get into Google's SERP's (search engine results pages) relatively quickly and may even perform well for a couple of weeks. When the filter is applied to the new website it is referred to as being put in the "sandbox". The new website will still show in the result pages, but it will not rank well regardless of how much original, well optimized content and regardless of how many quality inbound links the site may have. The filter restrains new websites from having immediate success in the search engine result pages. Or in worse condition, if you rank well in all the other major search engines, but do not show up at all in Google's rankings, you have probably been sandboxed.

No webmaster will like the Google Sandbox. But, a smart webmaster will use the sandbox as an opportunity to build a website that Google simply cannot refuse.

If your website is sandboxed, here my tips to escape from there:

1. Change your website layout
2. Add your website content
3. Submit your articles (with your website name attached) to increase link popularity

Google still ranks websites in much the same way that they had in the past. Websites are judged on the quality of their inbound links and the quality of their content. Google will continue to change how they evaluate inbound links and content, but the basic elements of their rankings will remain the same.

Some opinions say that it takes 6-12 months to escape from Google Sandbox, while another opinions say it takes only a few weeks to escape from Google’s sandbox. But, if you do nothing, your website may not be released from the Google Sandbox.

Finally, I want to say that the Google Sandbox is only intended to reduce search engine spam. It is not intended to hold people back from succeeding. Google is looking for websites that offer quality contents for us as Google’s customers. Google still relies on the natural voting system that was first used to establish pagerank. So, keep positive thinking !

All the best,

SEO 1,2,3 for Dummies

Seo is Search Engine Optimization. A magician's bag of tricks to get your web page on high SERP (Search Engine Rank Placement ) and High PR (Page Rank). SERP is when you search on Google for a keyword (word you are studying) like cats, you get a page of twenty web sites on cats back out of a hundred or thousand pages. SEO is the art of getting your web page to be listed for as many keywords pertaining to your site on the first page of hundreds. Since people have short attention spans, they tend not to search ten pages of returns to find your page.

That is the short skinny on the subject. If that answered enough quit reading. Still curious? Below is a more in depth but only basic description. It still is a basic description even if it lacks MTV brevity.

To get high SERP you can bid on keywords, through Google and other search engines you can bid on certain keywords. Every time someone clicks on my add in blue at the top and sides of Google pages (These are the auction listings, I will pay anywhere from .5 to $5 every time someone clicks on my site for the keywords I bid on. The one who bids the most gets to be on the first page for cats. The rest of Google is suppose to be based on scholarly research qualifications).

So you need to find a keyword that people actually look for but not too many people are bidding on. You got to niche your keyword. To find appropriate keywords you check your web logs to see what words people used in search engines to bring you to your site. Also their are online tools to use that suggest keywords and give a thesaurus of options along with how many times people searched for that keyword last month.

Then we get Page Rank which is based on how many people link to you. The higher page rank used to me higher SERP. But search engines update and change to keep ahead of SEO people. Google's Jager update screwed me up. The Higher PR the higher you can charge someone to advertise on your page also. 10 is the highest. Now to get links you want people to link to you in the middle of a paragraph near the top of their page with reference to you desired keyword. By the way have you seen the updates to my Life Coaching site (www.docspond.org , but since html is outlawed in this article I display it this way without conventional a href tags)? This would be a better link, Natural linking, instead of a directory of 200 people to a page called mile high links. Natural linking is someone considering you more an expert than just linking by subject as in Mile High. Sometimes the first ten can get points from robots to get high SERP on mile highs but these pages in general start out with lower wealth. So sites charge you a premium to be listed on a home page or the top of a directory. But you will never get anyone to click on these links, the only importance you get from them is robots.

Robots are programs that scour the web following all the links on your page to each other and all the ones you list to other sites. They check to see you have good code and list your words for their directory so people can find any phrase you placed on your site. Now links to other sites within three pages of your home page toward the top of each page get better points than any deep in your site or toward the bottom of the page. Also they down score links if their is too many on a page.

To get your site index by robots you go to search engines and go to the bottom of the page and find a link called submit your URL. there you put your address in and hit return. Anywhere from 3 weeks to four months it could take a robot to find you for the first time. Then it will index you once a month unless in your pages code in meta tags you tell it to visit every day if you like. Also it is good to submit URL on search engines every time you change your home page. More times you change your home page the better for points.

Some engines charge you to be listed. But in time they will index you because people on their engine have links to your site that their robots will follow to you. Then you are indexed for free. Yahoo charges to be listed in their business directory some think like $300 a year.

Now to get links is a tedious process of sending out hundreds of emails with a friendly greeting, Your site title with appropriate keyword placement in it, and site description. For their listing you, you give them a reciprocal link with their title and description on your link page. You can get people to link to you as an expert through natural linking. You can do the same for them. But if you get a link without giving one, it equals you higher points. Which in turn give you higher SERP. Other way to get natural links is to create something buzz worthy or give free tools. If you have a cool video of someone winning a Darwin Award, some one might say " Check this Dumb Fuck out!" and link to your site. If it is a popular page you get more points for the link. or if you have a free tool like these; Whois (I can find out your IP address from you computer from my web log and see which state and country you come from and your Internet provider to bitch too), Keyword finder, or Favicon creators (Little icons that appear at the top of the browser to the left of the URL).

Last but not least are RSS, Blogs, Newsletters, and Article submission. RSS is real Simple Syndication. It is a poor mans AP wire service. People have attachments to their browsers called aggregators that read this peculiar code. It can also have placement on your web page. Say you can have a feed from the latest news updated daily by the New York Times which helps keep fresh content on your site to get points. Or you can have people list your articles on their site giving you links back to your site. Then we have Blogs. If you blog you will put a link back to your other page. When this gets higher PR so does your other site. Also it is something else to attract clients to you in another arena. Also every time you comment on a board or blog, make sure you link back to your site in your signature. All post tend to be indexed by robots. If they find your link they come back to your page and give you points. Then newsletters you create will do the same. Links from emails count too. If you click on the links above, you will give points to that web site. But mostly newsletters are marketing to gather sales and inform the public on your product. Then we have article submission. By submitting articles to directories, they get published by other web sites and provide links back to your site.

That is the basic of SEO. Image the expert article. Hmmm....

TEN answers that turn Your visitor in to Your Customer

You know... Before purchasing your product a person comes to your order page minimum of 7 times? Nodody buys a product or service in their first visit. People search, compare, estimate, test... They look for affordable and good product that fulfil their needs.

Before buying they get so many questions in their mind.

If you answer these questions, sure they will become your potential customers.

****1.What did I get from your product?****

List out the benefits on your order page. If you don't have a seperate order page and order link is on the sales page itself, then put a small red box just above the order link and highlight two or three of important benefits of your product.

You can also keep your order link like 'Click here to see how I earned $455 from $25 with MY Proven Formula'.

Above is far better than just old, plain and dumb link like 'Click here to Order'. Don't you think?

****2.For how much I get it?****

People are more concern about how much they are gonna spend on your service. They compare the price and features of your product to other product's features and price. So have a look around how your competitors are selling.

Keep your price bold. Manytimes I myself scroll the page up and down to look how much that particular product costs.

****3.Why should I get it from YOU?****

Good question. If there are twenty people selling same type of product it will become your responsibility to explain the unique features of your product.

For example you are selling web hosting packages. Offer Live support for certain hours for your customers. Your clients love to get Instant help from your help desk.

If you are selling an ebook offer free upgrades. Show the list of previous upgrades if you have. This gains the confidence of your visitor that you are really holding on to your words.

****4.What benefits did I get if I buy your product?****

Always and always remember to list out and make prominent of the benefits they get from your service. Most of the sales letters are few meters long and are whole lot of paragraphs. People doesn't have time to spend lot of time at their first visit.

If a person comes to your web site from a search engine, he just scroll down and get the idea of what you have. So be prepare to put some prominent boxes with the benefits and main features. Use bullets or arrows with clear space in between the lines.

****5.What is the purpose of the product? How it works?****

If you reading the above question, it should be flashed to your mind that people like a demonstration of your product.

Live demo
Pictures of the product- how it works
Trial download
Free sample
****6.How fast can I get it?****

If you process your order manually and you do open your email every two days, your buyers become impatient. If possible try to provide instant download.

Some products need approval before delivering. For those you need little time. Tell this clearly on your order page or customer landing page after purchase. So there will be less chances of getting emails from them and charge backs.

****7.What if I don't like it?****

Provide a demo as said above. Most of the times this clears this question too. But still people need little more support in buying your product.

Offer money back guarantee if you have one. One week, fifteen days or 3 months... It is up to you.

****8.Why should I believe you?****

Testimonials...

Get some testimonials from your existing customers. If your product is new then offer it to your other product customers in return of a testimonial. Offer full evaluation version and get some testimonials.

****9.Are your site using secure server for Credit card transactions?****

Use a well known payment processing company to handle your transactions. Below the order link keep text that says all your orders are processed securely.

Point them to your private policy on how their information will be utilised by you.

****10.Did I get support for the products and free future upgrades?****

If your buyer get any problem with your product, be there to provide support. People may not know how to use your product.

Provide them:

Help files
Help desk
Frequently asked questions
Support email
Community forums
If you can clear all these questions ,well...then you have earned a potential customer. Be breif and clear in explaining your points.

Preventing Any Loss Of AdSense Profits

AdSense is a wonderful program that enables virtually any web publisher an opportunity to make a little extra pocket change. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work exactly like it should. When ads keep popping up with a focus that is completely different from the site at hand's, it's time to take action.

Since the whole idea behind AdSense ads is to provide publishers with advertising that's relevant to their sites, making sure that this is so is important. The idea is that visitors on a site about video games are more likely to click through and act on ads about games than they are on ads about feminine products, for example. It's wonderful in theory, but AdSense doesn't always produce as it should.

Google has been working hard to correct this issue, but there are things publishers can do on their own to increase their chances of getting ads that match content. Most of the measures are quite easy to employ. Since they can result in better revenue, they're worth considering if mismatched ads keep appearing.

Section targeting is one of the first steps that should be considered. This prospect involves nothing more than putting special code around a site's most important parts. This helps make sure that AdSense's bots read these parts before seeking out relevant ads. Targeting can also extend to programming that tells AdSense what copy not to scan. What to include here might involve such things as headers, footers and even lists and copy that just are not relevant to a site's overall focus.

AdSense also seems to read a page's meta tags. With this in mind, it's a good idea to make sure they reflect the important keywords. Meta tags can be found within a page's source code. If the tags don't reflect a site's theme or a post's, change them to include the right keywords. Bloggers will find this prospect is simple using "title tags" coding or other management tools for the program they use.

While meta tags can be important, overall keywords in posts and articles are more so. The idea here is to make sure keyword focus is clear enough for the bots to read. Make sure they are obvious, but don't destroy the flow of the content. Having the right works within posts and articles can simply make it easier for AdSense to scan for relevancy. Brand names and trade names are perfectly acceptable to use and can result in very relevant ads.

Making sure keywords are clear in titles is also very important. In fact, it could be the most important consideration. Since clear keywords in titles is also useful for search engine placement, getting into the habit of thinking SEO for titles is just a good thing to do AdSense or not.

If pictures are included on a site, it's not a bad idea to make sure they are named with keywords in mind, too. How much or how little of an impact this has on AdSense's reading ability is unknown, but it could play a role.

In a perfect world, AdSense would work as it was meant to all of the time. It's not a perfect world, however. A few easy measures can very much help publishers ensure relevant ads on their sites. It can, also, help increase revenue. If problems still arise, contact AdSense directly. A little time and patience for a reply might be required, but the folks behind the program are noted for their willingness to correct issues.

Your Link Building Campaign Search for Quality or Search for Quantity?

If you’re new to internet marketing, one tip you may have heard around the internet is that quantity link building is a better campaign than quality link building. However, if you’ve been around the internet awhile you know that a good link building campaign is just the opposite. While it is important to get a good number of links pointing back to you, the quality of the link pointing back is much more vital.

The way to look at it is that a link is like a reference to your website. If you were collecting references for another job, would you try to collect 25 good references or a few really good references? It’s the same thing for your link building campaign. You want nothing but the best pointing back to your website.

Not only is it a waste of your time to get as many links as possible as oppose to focusing on quality link building, it can also be detrimental to your website. If you have hundreds of links of little value pointing to your website, the search engines may view your website as one with little value. Obviously there are a number of other considerations that search engines take into account, but the links pointing back to your website is certainly one of the criteria.

So how do you know if it is a quality link or not? There are a number of factors that you should take into consideration when starting your link building campaign. One of the most common factors is the link’s page rank. This is a great way to look for quality links because their page is ranked from the search engines. However, you want to look at the page rank of the page that your website will be on, not their home page. It does you no good to look at the page rank of their home page if your link will have no association to it.

Another consideration is how many links are already on the other person’s page. Most people set up a page specifically for links to other websites. It can be difficult at times, but during your link building campaigns you should try to find websites that have no more than 30 links on the page. The page rank for any given page is distributed among the number of links on the page. If you can find a page with 30 other links on it, you will receive 1/30th of the page rank for that page.

The last thing to consider during your link building campaign is whether you like the website or not. Just because a website doesn’t have the highest page rank doesn’t automatically make it a poor website. For all you know it could be a brand new website that will soon have a page rank of 6. The important thing is that you go with your gut instinct and base your link building campaign around quality links and not the quantity of links.

How to get the most out of a niche blog.

As blogging has developed and matured the trend has been towards niche blogs. As in other areas of internet marketing this trend is gathering momentum; more and more niche blogs are turning in the search engines.

Owning a niche blog can be very profitable if you are able to supply the niche audience what they are looking for. A niche blog is focused in on a specific subject or sub subject within an interest group. They can cover hobbies, sports, health etc the key is that they focus in directly on that subject.

Because of this single mindedness in relation to blog topic the target visitors are passionate about the topic and will spend large amounts of money on items and products relating to their passion.

When you are researching niches for you to blog about make sure you establish what the niche audience is looking for. To start it is better to blog about a subject that is closed to your hart and where you understand the audience.

Once you have selected a niche topic you need to research it and become as much of an expert as possible. Do not think you know it all as there will be geeks in every niche that understand the microscopic details. Not saying you need to be the geek but make sure you understand your subject well.

Fill you blog with relevant and unique content so that the search engines will give you high page ranking. Additional to that your audience will consider you the best place to come for up to date information in their niche.

Traffic is king in all internet marketing and so is the email list. To maximise your income form a niche blog it is vitally important that you get your visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed and or your regular newsletter. Make sure these are clear and well promoted on your blog so you can make as many of your visitors subscribers.

Some things for you to think about there when building you niche blog.

Adsense Alternatives For Your Blog Part 1

Adsense Alternatives For Your Blog Part 1

Many people have started using Google's AdSense program to make cash on their blogs, but there are some who find it a bit too uncertain or simply not suiting their own requirements from an ad program.

But thankfully for such people, there are many alternatives to AdSense to help make you cash from your blog that attempt to alleviate some of the Adsense shortcomings. Here is a list of the most noteworthy ones from the lot with a description concerning each one.

AllFeeds (http://www.allfeeds.com/?action=publishers)
AllFeeds has a great pool of online advertisers to choose from to place on your blog. It also features many display formats that you can choose from. These include banners, buttons, XML feeds, DHTML pop-ups and so on. It also features real time reporting of your ad status. The site will mail a check every month, provided that you earn more then $25.00, while rolling over earnings for the next month if you don't. Another interesting thing about AllFeeds is that it integrates with Google AdSense, maximizing your earnings with AdSense.

MarketBanker (http://www.marketbanker.com/mb/sell.php)
MarketBanker allows you the unique possibility to set the pricing for your blog. It also allows you to allow or reject any link that appears on your site (although AdSense itself does a very good job of this as well, with URL filters) There's also a statistics section which will allow you to see how well your site is doing. The ads are small just like AdSense's and they're just as easy to set up. Also, registration for MarketBanker is free.

BidClix ( http://www.bidclix.com/PubTop.html)
BidClix is different because it has advertisers compete for clicks on your blog, which in turn is meant to generate the highest possible profits for your blogs pages. It also has a very large pool of advertisers which ensure there are plenty of people to choose your site. However, it does require more polish on site contents then AdSense. As most sites, real time statistics are available and its very easy to get started with this service, but it's also very flexible.

Chitika (http://www.realcontext.com/index.php?option=RealContext:+Contextual+Targeting+Engine)
RealContext uses Artificial intelligence to retrieve the most relevant ads for your page. And there's an extra feature which makes RealContext unique as well. Keywords are selected based upon which previous selections paid off and which didn't. That means there's a constant feedback process that ensures you gain better revenue from your ads. It also supports blocking certain adds and child-safe filtering and many more options.

AdHearus (http://adhearus.com/webmaster.php)
AdHearus is a very feature-packed contextual ad provider. As with AdSense, advertisements are targeted but it doesn't stop here at all. The ads are very flexible, you can select from text-ads, banners, rectangles, pop-ups, pop-unders or skyscrapers. You can also display your own ads, through rotation, both on your site and on other affiliate sites, which makes AdHearus a hybrid with conventional advertising technologies. There's a very comprehensive on-line real time reporting feature and, as usual with such services, starting out is free and it's a breeze.

AffiliateSensor (http://www.affiliatesensor.com/)
AffiliateSensor has highly customizable ad blocks, which you can make for yourself with an easy to use on-line interface. You also get realtime reporting with clicks-by-domain, page and referrer. There's integration with Google AdSense as well, through the google_alternate_ad_url so AffiliateSensor can be used as a substitute for Google PSA's (Public Service Ads).

Kanoodle Bright Ads (http://www.kanoodle.com/about/brightads.cool)
Kanoodle's offering allows publishers to get ads related to topics or segments, and not the traditional keyword oriented ads. The site also groups publisher sites with advertisers by hand to ensure high-revenue generating ads. And speaking of revenue, the amount of money you receive is a clear 50% share of the amount of money Kanoodle receives for an advertiser.

TargetPoint (http://publisher.targetpoint.com)
TargetPoint is oriented more towards content publishers. It offers full control over the look the ads, statistics over your site's overall performance and better revenue. It's free to register and you earn a guaranteed 60% of the total revenue. You can get paid with Paypal of Bank checks and (most times) wire transfers as well.

Clicksor (http://www.clicksor.com)
Clicksor will earn you as much as 60% from the amount of money your website produces. What you get is about the same as AdSense, there are targeted text ads, you can view the revenues from your website in real time. You can receive money via PayPal or through a check every two weeks, provided that you have earned more then $50. If you haven't made that much, your earning roll over to the next period

Is this the end to blogging and Social Networking?

With the news full of problems being experienced by social networking sites are we seeing the beginning of the end for Blogs and Social networking. My Space have just closed 29,000 profiles of know child offenders and Facebook's owner is in court fighting to stop a rival closing him down.

Can it be that the bubble is about burst and we are all about to see the fallout of closer regulation on line relating to the freedom of content and speech for our online world?

It has been the authors and users ability to have free speech coupled with the speed at which this content could be placed online for millions to see which has been the corner stone of blogging and social networking.

Being a blogger and IM marketer I am concerned that these types of events draw the attention of governments and regulatory authorities who just may use this type of news as a reason to meddle in our online affairs.

Don't we all have a social and moral responsibility to police ourselves and keep our chunks of internet above board? I see every day posts and comments from people who seem to not care or forget that this is a world wide medium; after all WWW stands for World Wide Web.

Where will this all end, may be I am getting over excited? Are we going to see another black day when the dot com bubble burst yet again? If this dose happen how many of use will rise from the ashes and face the new world?
